Listen to Learn: 8 Podcasts for IB students 

Podcasts have become highly popular recently as a convenient way to stay informed. It can be a terrific method for International Baccalaureate (IB) students to enhance their study and obtain fresh viewpoints on various subjects. There are 8 podcasts that are recommended to IB students. 

1. TED Talks Daily

TED Talks Daily introduces various topics that can give valuable insights for IB students. There are plenty of topics, from science and technology to humanity and social issues, which provide new and interesting viewpoints for IB students.

TED Talks are usually around 15-20 minutes long, students can easily listen to them during your break or on the way home. 

2. Freakonomics Radio

Freakonomics Radio explores different intriguing topics on economics, psychology, sociology, etc. It is great for IB students to gain a deeper understanding of human behaviour and cultures that are shaping our world with critical ideas.

Stuff You Should Know shares a wide range of topics including World History and Everyday Science. The podcast is entertaining and informative, making it a great choice for IB students who want to learn something new and interesting like Goosebumps, How Easy Bake Ovens Work and The Largely Equine History of Veterinary Medicine.

5. The Rest is History

History lovers must have this in your subscription list! The podcast introduces the history of different continents or countries by some selected issues with well-researched and informative content. IB students can learn history from different perspectives like a person (Queen Elizabeth II), a historical event (China and World War II), or even a film (French History on Film) . 

For students who are not keen on History, you may also have a try on listening to one of the episodes, it may raise your interest as well!

6. ZOE Science & Nutrition

If you are a big fan of science, or even FOOD, you must subscribe to ZOE Science & Nutrition. It gives some questions to raise their audience’s interests, like “Eggs: are they good to me?”, “Should you worry about gluten?” and “Will fermented food improve my gut health?”, etc. It makes what you might see in your IB textbooks more lively and easy to understand. 

7. The Economist Podcasts

The Economist Podcasts is hosted by a group of Economist journalists, sharing in-depth analysis and commentary on current social affairs. If you are interested in global news, international politics and economics, these topics are all covered by the podcast and you can learn a lot from the experienced specialists in these fields.
